Fremont Mazda in the Bay Area

Now it doesn't seem to be rated the highest of all the Bay Area dealerships, but Fremont Mazda is incredibly convenient for me as it's a block away from where I work so I don't have to deal with being late to work or whatnot. I'm wondering if anyone here has any specific experience with them. Stories are welcome. Thanks.

well, they where okae until recently for me. I normal oil change would take an hour or more for some reason, the head of the service department is a stickler and would charge by the book (the other guys gave a discount here and there). Also, the parts department was horrible. I purchased a mazdaspeed bumper with fog light brackets and asked them to send it out to the body shop, they got the address for the shop and told me it would come in the next morning. Well, the part came in, and they never gave me a call about receiving the bumper and also forgot to send it to the shop. Heres the thing, they never called to tell me they got the bumper in, the shop called me about 5 days later telling me that they never received the bumper, i give them a call and they told me "you're bumper is ready for pickup". Then i had to remind them that i wanted it shipped out, they told me they would ship it out the next day, two days pass until i give them a call back and they tell me that they lost the address for the shop (it was on the copy of the invoice that they kept). I had to fax them over the bussiness card and wait another day. Then the body shop tells me that they sent the wrong foglight bracket.

They are not the best but because thats the closest mazda dealership near me, i go to them for my maintanence. I wouldn't recommend their body shop and installation for parts. Also, make sure not to plan something half an hour or even two hours after your appointment for maintanence, it may take longer than that just for an oil change and tire rotation.

My apartment is in San Jose, but my office is a block away from Fremont Mazda. I was thinking of perhaps just going in the morning and leaving my car there to get warranty work done and picking it up when I get off work. Would that be alright? I don't need them for maintenance as I do all my own maintenance, but if there's a problem I do have a warranty so I might as well use it.

I always go to Oak Tree. Talk to Tim and tell him that Mr. Veloso sent you.

warranty work would be alright. and if you plan on dropping it off while you're at work, that would be perfect. they take a while so dropping it off and going to work would be a good idea. Warning though, if you get a new mechanic, be careful.
