Hey all!

Vivid Racing and Modified Magazine have teamed up to do a issue on RX8 bolt on performance. In this upcoming issue, we will test 3-4 different products on your car and dyno each stage to present the results.

We need a bone stock RX8 and someone will to let us take the time to PUT FREE parts on your car and do dyno testing. All these items are simple bolt ons and will not affect the driveability or reliability of your car, rather improve the performance. Since this car will be in a magazine, we will be getting each item for you for FREE. Dyno time is FREE. Labor is FREE. We will be doing the photography and work at Vivid in Tempe, Arizona, and the Dyno at an affiliate shop local here. We will be putting stickers on the car for the shoot, which you can remove at a later time.

Items to be tested on the car -
K&N Intake Kit
Exhaust - Working on Borla, Espelir, B&B, JIC, or another company
Agency Power Crank Pulley
Spark Plug wires, Ground Kit, or cat delete pipe.

This project will take place throughout the month of March to be turned into the magazine in early April.

In general, how does this sort of thing effect the warranty on a car? I'm especially curious about the effect of a turbo..

 

Turbo was not mentioned in the original request by dan. I am interested in the dynos because b4 the turbo, this was a popular route to increase hp. I would think that these modifications would yield at most 20 rwhp, i would be surprised if much greater, but i could be wrong. the turbo is 60rwhp out of the box.

warranty-wise, anything that you install that is found to be the CAUSE of a problem, Mazda can void the warranty on that functional area, ie/ void warranty on engine with turbo install.

being a new car owner, you might want to break in ur vehicle first before pulling 4-5th gear dyno runs @ > 100mph!
