Coolant warning light on and off
Coolant warning light on and off
Hi. how are you fellow 8 friends! i have a question.. Once in a while my coolant warning light would come on and off... but when i look at my temp gauge seems to be fine.. its that light keep going on and off everrytime i use my paddle shifter or going 70 mph and over.. How do i solve this kind of problem? thanks!
This was happening to me earlier in the summer. I put a bottle of Water Wetter in the tank and since have been vigilant with checking the level. It has not come back since then, and I used to get the light everytime I was above 4500rpms for more than 10 seconds
Check it once a week or every time you check your oil. But something tells me you aren't doing that very regularly either are you?
You can actually take the tank out itself and flush it out real good and you will be okay. All the experiments I did indicate that it's the crud in the bottom of the tank that keeps the magnetic float from doing it job.
If you really wanna read all about it, go here..............but know that I went way far with this thread.

I disconnected the coolant level switch and the light indicator does not come on any more. Thanks Guys!!!
Question: Does that switch run in series with another switch or sensor? Will disconnecting the coolant sensor prevent any other sensor related to this light indication on the dash? Is the red light just below the Oil pressure gauge only for indication of the coolant level or is that light for other sensors?

ok i just went to the dealership today and i GOT omfgbbqrofl owned. I had an oil change and of course it was around 49 bucks. and then i asked to check my coolant cuz i told em my situation and guess what! they want to charge me 300 bucks or something to fix it. i was like aight well **** it. just check my coolant level.. and if you can just fill it up or something if it needs to. and then they charged me 47 bucks for that. so my total came up to 80 bucks. still.. i felt neglected..
