Coolant leak inside the engine, getting a new one installed.
Last Thursday I took my car to the dealership (Putnam in San Mateo) to check for a check engine light. This morning I was told there was coolant inside the engine, the seal must have been bad.
From reading the forum, looks like I'm not the only one. They already got a new engine here, if everything goes well, I'll have my car back this Thursday....Wish me luck!
In the mean time, I'm chugging along in a chevy cav...oh man....

At least the wait won't be as long. I know of one other person this happened to, you may or may not have met him at the old sunnyvale get togethers. Hope you get the car back ASAP, time to break-in the engine all over again. What was your VIN number? Was it a sub 5000 number or something else..

Me too, same problem, coolant leakiing into engine, they need to replace. I have only 950 miles on the car. The dealer said it would be two weeks. I'm worried that they will be able to put everything back together correctly without causing other problems.

From the people I've spoken to, their was some flaw in their engine build that caused the problem. I know of one person who took great care to break-in his engine and still had it happen. If it occurs, it will happen during your normal routine. As soon as coolant leaks into that engine block presto... expect to get a brand new engine.

Just routine driving here, proper maintainance and all that, 7500 miles on the car now. It took about 2 weeks for them to fix mine, got my car back today.
