Anyone know who ran the 04 -8 (yellow) at the above speeway/drag-Sat. (3/26)
looked like it cloked a 13/14 in the quarter--wonder what's done to it-turbo?-it was rip rubber in the 1st 4 gears

i was the only yellow RX-8 there..... in fact i was the only RX-8 there.....in fact i was the only Rotary there

he he he, it was me. but your mistaken with the times. i ran a wopping 15.9
i could not get the tires to hook up. it didnt matter what i tried. i tried to do some mean burn outs, i tried to launch at lower RPM's...... only thing i didnt try was launching from an idle which i was going to try if i got a next run.

its obviouse the car is faster then a 15.9, its just a matter of finding how to get the tires to hook.

When i used to take my RX-7 there i had the same problem. Fontana just does not have the grip other tracks have.

all well, mabe next time i can get the tires to grip.

I have an 04-we have (America Tire/sponser) I did not race the 8 that day--I raced a vette (02) did ok. Our 8 is no longer street legal- we push 480 hp to the tires- you will see me there over the summer-we should run low 11's.. My wife has a blue 05 8 as a daily driver. I saw what you were doing -with the tire grip--Hey- smoke is cool

he he he, well i didnt have much fun, i was more upset about the horable numbers. i mean 15.9 is just stupid!

my RX-7 was faster then that when it was a street car. (my RX-7 is no longer a street car, it is now a full drag car. engine is being built for it as we speak. cant run fontana though as its not "street legal")

lot's you can do in the 8's bay--I'll show some pic's- the car structure is really just a race car waiting to shed lots lbs- I think your going to start to see more of them at the strip.- We had a little trouble with -rear end tire space-/& tranny set ups, you will see the mods are rather evident. fun cars- this site is kind of kick- but lot's of good info
