I took home a Blue, GT, NAV, 6MT, 6 disc changer this evening.

While doing the paperwork I asked about the Calif tire fee - I was told the state makes them collect $1 for each tire on the car. So I said, "Uh, but the Rx-8 only has four tires" - they said "you forgot the spare" - I said "nope, the RX-8 doesn't come with one"....

They checked out the regulations and I only had to pay a $4 tire fee...

I really didn't care about the single dollar after all the other barganing, but thought I'd pass this on in cae others want to ask their dealer.

Of course if you order the optional spare I bet you have to pay the extra $ - I wonder if they collect the dollar if you get the spare thru the parts department...?

Ah, just one of life's little inconsistencies.
