Who's up for this? I heard some of the rx7 folks were also considering rolling up and making it a bit of a rotary event...

Yes well I was going to go, then I got an email last night that I'm required to attend a meeting on Saturday at 9am in Del Mar - major poo....
So I and my '8 will not be able to attend unfortunately.

Looks like a decent turn out - I'm bummed I missed it. I'm actually at work now typing this up...
I suppose I should stop goofing around and finish up what I came in here to do.
.. also - is that a white rx8 in the last picture? I didn't think they had white ones in the US ?

Front air dam/spoiler was DAMN fine
rear wing : my complaint about the MS wing is the lip : the wing looks good, why does it also have a lip?
The rear diffuser did nothing for me.
The side rails go full length (normal OEM only go about half way) but they weren't on very well, there was about a 1/4" gap between the rail and the car where you could see foam sticking out. not very nice at all.
The "carbon fiber" door panels were just glue on stickers. very cheesey looking.
The rims : I can respect what they were, nice quality, nice shape, they seemed to have the tire pressure sensor mounting too! But they were just plain the wrong colour : with the red car I'd prefer not to have the gun metal rims.
But now you'll just accuse me of being negative. I won't even start on the poor detailing done on the riced up car that won "most accessorized"

Yeah, all in all definitely a good event. I'm glad I went.
You guys have to give that guy some props though. True it was a little ricey (I mean, 3 TV screens in the trunk for crying out loud), but it was still really nicely done. Not anything that I would particularly care to drive, but I can respect what he's going for. I really liked the oil and bogus boost gauge (I'm sure he'll put it to use eventually) located where the ashtray is. That was tight.

Ok, I have no idea how that happened. I'm definitely NOT thavngr98. Guess some cookies got mixed up somewhere.... Eek, that's kinda crazy though. I was able to get into his control panel and everything....

I liked the interior touches (the blue tint) though i think they really didn't go well with the titanium exterior. perhaps the blue leather plus the blue tints plus blue exterior would work, but i just didn't like the blue/titanium.
under the hood and in the trunk and the interior was very well done, but the decals were very very very poor. almost all of them were peeling and you could tell the people washing it didn't do a good job, they kept rubbing them off.
and your (rotormotor's) rims were better than his too
so sure i'll give him his props, but any shop that puts a show car together should face a higher level of scrutiny than us regular folk, shouldn't they?
