Bay Area RX-8's

I am looking to add exhaust to my RX-8 and I was just wondering if there were any 8's around here in the Bay Area who have already put exhaust on their 8.

I was looking at either Racing Beat, Greddy, or Borla and I would love to check out and listen to someones ride if they already have exhaust on if they would not mind meeting up.

Also, I will probably be getting this installed at a shop because I have never worked on a car before, nor probably have all the needed tools (mainly a jack) in order to change exhaust, so if you know of any bay area shops around here that has done a good job at installing the exhaust go ahead and let me know of the place, location, and the costs.

I am located in San Jose/Los Gatos area. Thanks!

Check out the meets that happen at the Great Mall in Milpitas, haven't been to one in awhile, so goto yahoo groups "southbayrx8" and ask them.

Also, thedosdog and I want to organize a small run in the northbay in the coming future. There will be at least one RB exhaust and possibly a Borla too...

I'd love to help organize or participate in this northbay run with you and thedosdog.

How do I go about going into the yahoo group southbayrx8?

You need to first setup a Yahoo Mail ID at "mail.yahoo.com", when that's done goto "groups.yahoo.com" and sign up to "southbayrx8" group.

Why are you selling? What's your experience with the Borla? Likes, dislikes etc? What are you getting?

Love the Borla. Getting rid of the pipe because I like the car more when it is quiet and goes fast.

cgrx, I hear your K&N long before the Borla. I remember at the SF meet hearing your 8 when you were 4 cars in front It must sound like a drag bike with the mid pipe on. Hey, what ever happened with the springs?

Oh yeah, what is this K&N thing that people are getting for their 8's?

Some say that whatever exhaust they have sounds great mixed with the K&N. Elaborate a little more on this for me.

If you've ever heard a full race rotary running somewhere like Sear Point you know they are very loud. This motor can make almost as much noise from the intake side as it can on the exhaust. The K&N replaces the stock air box and is significantly louder at WOT, but in a good way

I sold the K&N a few weeks ago, I'll be running just the Borla.
Springs went in fine, but are uneven on the right (right is a little lower) I'm going to tweak with them when I get a chance.
I'll eventually get coilovers. The road to my work is rough in some spots...

sorry, but what's WOT?

Also, where can I get the K&N intake? If I have never worked on a car before, would I be able to install this myself, or is this a hard thing to do. Thanks!

wot (wide open throttle).

People had mixed results with the k&n intake. Do a search, not a lot of owners find it a worthwhile mod, just added for noise. It shouldn't be hard to install at all.
