Hi guys & gals,

I live in the east bay area and just stopped by PR Motorsports in Hayward for those that know where that is. They quoted me for the following problems:

1.) OMP (Oil Metering Pump) has small amount of leakage
Price to fix: ~$1500

2.) Transmission Bearing is making some noise
Price to fix: ~$1800 + More if I want clutch replaced, which I do

I started a thread in "trouble shooting" and people have been saying the price is high. The shop seems to be very reputable but those prices are beyond what a student can pay easily. So I wanted to see if any Bay Area peeps can offer some suggestions.

P.S. I had a very positive experience with them and don't think they are out to screw me. But having options is good!

if it's the engine you take it to Mazda or Rotary specialist
for everything else. Bring it to your local mechanic shop

 

Thanks for the heads-up. They look like a good shop to look into. Might take advantage of their $29.99 oil change special in addition to getting a quote.
