The AAA office in Saratoga/Stevens creek has a DMV inside. They can handle your DMV needs.
Hey!!! I just don't follow the 350 line! Don't make me make you eat meat!
Rob didn't want to be a Guinea pig for Pettit.
I stand corrected! I have to keep that dictionary near me like you do.

Try this one for $30 out-the-door:
Lafayette Parker
829 Parker St, Santa Clara 95050
408 970 0228
Came across it on Miata forum. Never been there myself.
ps. Bump for my FS thread on new tires: https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-parts-sale-wanted-44/fs-bridgestone-re050a-225-45-18-brand-new-123921/

Another one:
76 Station in San Jose/Saratoga, intersection of Prospect and Saratoga Ave is 19.95+10.05 for cert. 30 bucks out the door. 20 bucks for a pretest if you think you might fail.

The driving experience is different.
At low speed, it feels like a boat, but at higher speed, it's very responsive, and balanced.
No, I'm not joining the 350z club. I want to try an intake mod and get it to 300hp. I think the 300hp version was released in 2006. I'm getting mixed info on the 2005 model, it's either 287hp or 300hp.
The place over on lafayette and parker is the ******* worst. Been here an hour already with the car on the ******* dyno and the guy has my car running, no wheels moving and wasting my gas time and money. I'm pissed!
Sorry Spinbreakz for the bad experience. I was just simply trying to give you options based on what Miata forum guys said. Let me know what went wrong (bad service/long wait/inadequate equipment/etc) so I can inform the Miata board.
i know, i know. I appreiciate the help, i really do. But yeah, all of the above was horse ****. Those miata drivers must be in the same something or other as this shop. Im sticking to rotary mazdas
OK, I looked up the ones I have been to personally. Smog Master and Speedy Smog, both Test Only centers on El Camino Real, near Santa Clara University. The websites are http://www.smogmaster.net and http://www.yellowpages.com/info-LMS5...Smog-Test-Only.
I took the RX-8 to Smog Master, which was a bit of wait due to only one technician working on multiple bays. Other than that, it was fairly smooth. I also tried Speedy Smog on a different car, just OBD II. It was fast and a bit cheaper. Smog is not exactly rocket science, so I'm surprised to hear of your lousy experience. It's RWD and CAN-bus compliant should be all the technician needs to know.
Once again, very sorry!
