Anybody get theirs yet? I'm in the second wave of preorders, so don't have a lot of immediate hope, but the sooner the first wave gets out the better.

 

Not yet. Haven't gotten the email. Dealer said they were released from the port today, but also to call back everyday until it gets here...

 

I just don't understand the differences in the dealers. It's very clear that some folks are getting phone calls before the trucks arrive, other dealers claim they have no clue prior to arrival of the truck.

 

Showcase Mazda called me and said they would have a demo 8 tomorrow 7/16/03 to drive.

 

i would to know if anyone got their car from Star Mazda, please!!:D

????? Why is everyone in the USA getting car (some far away places) and I'm close to the port and my dealer doesn't know a thing?

I give my polite phone call every day. -nope, sorry no cars today.
I've been doing this for two weeks now.

At the end of work, I go drive by - hoping to see the transporter truck.

Got a call from the dealer (7/15 7:20PM) He said they expected 5 or 6 in about a week...

The delivery process is confusing. The car was on the first boat to arrive in the U.S., AZ is close to CA, but others across the country are getting them already? Hmm... The built letter said, "In about 3-8 weeks, depending on where you live and shipping schedules", but this is pretty stupid.

 

Got a call Tuesday afternoon around 4 p.m. Earnharts Ford/Mazda here in Chandler, AZ (I-10 and Ray Road) just received 4 RX-8s. I'll be heading down there after work to check it out!!

 

Showcase Mazda just emailed me that they have the 8's on the showroom floor. Damn Bowling league tonight or else I'd go check them out.

 

Jim Click East claims they'll have a demo from 0900-1200 on 18 Jul. They also think they might be getting the 1 RX-8 in the next day or two, but it's not mine.

Did the ones in Pheonix come in?

 

The Phoenix cars are here and on the streets. At least one or two sightings so far with several dealerships reporting cars on the showroom floors and even a couple available!

 

That's GREAT! Now if we could just figure out how to ship a couple to Tucson. I just don't understand why it's so dang hard.

My dealer was kind enough to check my status. Still shows at the port with a delivery of July Week 2. Hmmm don't think we're going to make that one.

 

Went to the dealer to look at the training RX-8, at the end of the session a truck pulls up. My car on it was on it! I'm the first one here. Going to pick it up tonight!

 

I was at the same training session with mx32mpsrx8, but my car wasn't on the truck. It was really awesome to see that truck pull up, although I was really bummed to only see the silver and red.

Good news is there's another truck coming in tomorrow with another RX-8 on it. It's a 50/50 shot as to whether it's mine or the dealer demo. I've decided it's mine until proven otherwise. We'll have to race to see who gets it broken in first!

Anybody know if one's been delivered while still showing in port?

One other observation, head room is good vertically, but tight horizontally. I fit with good space (flat fist) over my head (6'1", 34 inseam), but if I tip my head to the left, I hit the door frame/head liner very quickly (inch or two). No problem from my point of view, but would be very restrictive in a helmet, or to someone who doesn't like cozy.

 

It was good to see the first wave of cars delivered...

I was at Showcase Mazda and got to check out the cars they got in, but apparently mine is in the next delievery. The dealer said they should have been in this week as well...

Anyone else get an actual date on the next group of cars?


Also, I was amazed how many cars are coming to AZ. I was told that Showcase had 37 preorders they were filling and that was only one dealer!
