Anyone in Bay Area with lightweight flywheel?

It looks like my clutch will have to be replaced soon. I am considering a lighter weight BHR flywheel since it all can be done at the same time.

Would anyone be willing to let me take a quick spin of their 8 with an aftermarket flywheel setup? I'd like to hear and see how it feels before I make a decision.

I am located near San Jose. I'd be happy to drive to someone's house or a convenient locale. Fully insured and safe driver here.

Thanks!

I have one and I am in Fairfield, but I have a whole host of mods so you might not know what your feeling.

^ Thanks for the offer Highway8. I am often traveling to Sac to visit family. If timing is good, I could always take 680/80 up there or back.

you might not really feel a difference, and it's always different driving someone else's car. I drove my friends with a light fly and pulley's and I didn't feel anything different.

That's what I'm concerned about with a $400 flywheel. I could put that $400 towards exterior or other mods that'll make a more visual or tactile difference.

Things to consider:

1ST- The BHR flywheel is a good mod, it will free up some horsepower, not a huge improvment but it helps.

2ND- Now is the time to have it done, your paying labor to have the clutch replaced (might as well upgrade that too) and if you dont replace the flywheel you will be spending $25-$50 to resurface the stock one, so the $400 is a little less.

3rd- The BHR flywheel beets any exterior mod, well in my opinion anyways.

I never actual offered to let you drive my car, but if you are headed this way and want to stop in I would not mind. I will be in willows tomorrow (6th) at thunderhill raceway for an HPDE.

Thanks for the tips. Sorry to have assumed incorrectly. My mistake. Appreciate the official offer however!

Will most likely be going with the BHR/SPEC Stage 1 clutch kit.

I agree with HWY8 and installing the fly when you do the clutch. Hey, it's your $400, do what you think you'll enjoy more. A few more HP, or making your 8 look better.

Personally Hp mods don't mean a thing unless you are tracking it. The 8 has enough pep for my for my daily driving. I stopped at spark plug wires, intake and exhaust.

I have a lightweight flywheel from racing beat. It was one of my favorite mods. Especially since ur doing ur clutch u might as well replace instead of fix a stock (eww) part.

i felt that the lightweight Flywheel was the best mod i did on my 8. Pulls harder to redline, love it. Our no torque rotaries can definitely use it since they're not designed to be drag raced anyways.

I had the ACT Flywheel and can probably source it for you locally too.
