want to tell me how much gas is at the arco near the fair grounds. im about to drive up there

dozer 09-10-2008 04:20 PM

should be somewhere around 3.90 for premium...i never use arco, pure chevron and shell

katiewagg 09-10-2008 04:32 PM

ughh i really dont want to drive up there. traffic is going to suck getting back

i was recently talking to a mechanic while waiting for my car and he said that with all the money people save by using arco or costco gas, they end up spending it all on fixing their car because the gas is so cheap and has alot of bad crap in it that messes everything up. also, you get better mileage with better gas ;)

Spinning Sushi 09-11-2008 12:48 AM

I use Arco.

dozer 09-11-2008 12:54 AM

^ just like turbo cars our cars are detenation sensative...keep that in mind when using cheap gas...misfires cause cels

tiltmode43 09-11-2008 01:51 AM

Shell and 76 are the only thing that touch my 8. Off of Santa Ana by the 55 the Shell prices are usually decent.

I do like the $3.63 gas from that arco for the civic though :D

Spinning Sushi 09-11-2008 02:04 AM

I still use Arco ever since day one... and oh yeah, it gave me the highest dyno at the SoCal Dyno Day.

volcomx31 09-11-2008 02:13 AM

west siiiiiiiide

Atilla 09-11-2008 08:52 AM

don't use arco - it might make you wanna sell your car  jk jk

no but seriously - i avoid arco usually because my car acts funny when i do versus if i use my standard shell -

katiewagg 09-11-2008 05:23 PM

really? i use arco if i have cash on me but usually chevron. i would never put anything less than 91 in my car though.. that would be a bad thing.

rollerbldes 09-11-2008 06:28 PM

just go to gasbuddy.com

tiltmode43 09-11-2008 07:54 PM

My CEL will turn off when I run 76/Shell hard enough.

The one time Arco was put in my car (not by me), it came on within 25 miles. Though inaccurate I use this as a measure of how well the gas is burning/clean it is. Could be wrong, could be right. Either way I'm catless and haven't seen the CEL in over 3,500mi.

rollerbldes 09-11-2008 08:15 PM

Actually 87 gas will burn more cleanly than 93.

No one likes knock either! I'm not on an oem map either. :squint:

Lets not let this get into an octane debate either, I ran 89 for quite some time but am back at 91.

all the gas price are pretty cheap now..just dont pull gas near a freeway,it's like 10 cent more then other places.

photo chick 09-12-2008 12:38 PM

a while ago, i read an article saying that they change the price during the week and different times during the day. cheaper after midnight and on wednesdays..i think

bao0518 09-12-2008 12:42 PM

fr my experience, the price is change every Thursday night because of the weekend. Most my the gas station around my house will have a price change Friday morning.

Atilla 09-12-2008 01:37 PM

^hmmm...i'm gonna watch for that now...

Jedi54 09-12-2008 02:19 PM

prices are changing throughout the day today due to Hurrican Ike hitting the Gulf today. (lots of refineries there)

photo chick 09-12-2008 02:22 PM
