I am from Washington and I am heading to Monterey then Los Angeles. Right now I am in Vacaville.

The bearings in my alternator have started to fail.

It is making a whining noise and as the car gets warmer a growling. It sounds pretty bad.

The Alternator is still charging fine.

My problem is that so far every place I have tried/called the alternator is a special order item. Even the dealerships so far. The Drive belt has also been a special order item.

Does anyone have recommendations as to where I might get one in stock some place between Monterey to Los Angeles California?

I had mine rebuilt locally for $100.00. I also got one on ebay for like $100.00 with like 15,000 mile son it.

I have one that need to be rebuilt I could send you but those bitches are heavy but maybe it would fit in a flat rate box.

 

I found one in stock at autozone in seaside for 170.00 go figure that a parts store in a small town would have something that did not exist in Oregon or northern California.
Then I broke my ratchet.
I found a hardware store still open, and a liquor store to numb the pain of smashing my fingers when the ratchet broke.

 

I know a place in Oakland CA they rebuilt it right in the sport, just have to wait for a hour or two.
