Is aem cold air intake system is C.A.R.B. exempt in cali?

Does anyone know the answer to this question? I freaken got a ticket for exhaust and instake. I have to bring it to the state referee. I already remover the exhaust cause i know it not going to pass but i wonder about the intake. I keep on reading about it's 50 state legal but i am asumming that we're not one of the 50 state. thanks in advance

How can that be when CARB stands for CALIFORNIA Air Resources Board?

-Also I don't think cat back exhausts have anything to do with CARB. Unless your system replaces the cat or headers you don't have to worry.

Just as long you have the CARB or EO Number visable, you will be fine.

Some other states have excepted and now have their rules run off of CA's laws and regulations.

To quote Racing Beat's site (url http://www.racingbeat.com/emissions.htm),

At the present time there are several states that have enacted the California laws (i.e. Mass., Maine, New York, and Vermont) and new vehicles are sold as "California Emissions Equipped Vehicles".

Cali likes to consider themselves "a step beyond" what others do. They tried to regularte CO2 emissions above and beyond what the fed level is, to the extent of trying to say some vehicles had to have co2 scrubbers, but it was struck down in the courts.

very true statement. people also fail to realize that Colorado smog laws are MORE STRICT than California.

in anycase, unless the aftermarket part comes with a CARB certificate AND is equipped on the car it's made for, there shouldn't be a problem.
