The 06-07 San Bernardino Calendar Project
Michael: of the two that Kith just posted (post #422), I like the first one. I think the angle of that picture, the slight blue glow of the dash, and the cool ring of light from the brake lights, are all top notch.
ok after many many days of pondering i think we have a winner..
ladys and gent introducing sample #4 as the pick for me.
also had some input from my lady friend, she agreed with snowflake.

Cesar I was thinking about getting some pictures out here on Saturday morning like around 7:30-8ish maybe later. This could be your finall calender image?. There are also the dinsours for some images and the windmill fields. Let me know so we can go out together. I will be heading toward Calimesa that day any way, I think early morning will do best for lighting conditions. Beside this carport there is also the large hotel tower.

- Sorry, Long Post -
That picture is the valet spot at Morongo. It's where you unload passengers.
It would be very hard to pull-off a picture there because security is extremely tight. They wouldn't let you park and take shots of your car.
If you look at the first picture, the car is facing the direction in which all traffic flows. If I parked there even for a minute, I would be facing the carport, not the camera.
Did you take those?
I'd be curious to know what time of day they were taken, and if the casino was even finished yet.
The only time I've seen it that empty was when I took a tour of the casino before it was finished.
I can't imagine any time during daylight were it would be that empty now.
It's empty at 3am on a weekday, but that's about it.
I've been racking my brain for a good casino picture, but as far as I know, there's none around here that will be empty enough unless I go at some crazy hour in the morning.
Morongo Saturday morning might work if I got there at sun up, around 7am, but then I'd have to leave my house around 6 for that. Also, as mentioned above, there's the issue of facing the wrong way.
I'm definitely going to my friends house this weekend to take pictures in his driveway.
If I get something else, that's cool too, but at least I'll have the main pic done.
For the smaller pics, we can use some from autocross or meets.

Cesar, your mod list is fine.
Are you a member of that casino....? Maybe calling the person in charge of security and ask if there would be a possibility of coming up early in the morning to take pics. Maybe give him a time frame of how long you would like to be there...?
I would agree though, would be impossible to pull of without receiving permission to be there. You weren't with us last year when we did the "night shoot"...but we got kicked out of Victoria Gardens before even getting out of our cars. They wouldn't allow photos to be taken under any circumstance. I'm sure the casino is the same.

I have connections. One of my best friends is assistant to the head of security.
That's how I was able to go there before they opened.
I'll see what I can do, but I won't hold my breath.

Jedi...we finished your page last week...made the changes that were requested. We hope to have all the pages, as well as the lower calendar section done by tonight (excluding Cesar's page as he has not yet submitted his pics---planning a shoot for the weekend or will have to resort to old pics)....we will post up final versions for close inspection in a thread in the multimedia section (post count friendly of course)....or maybe Loren can email you the final version....either way, I think we got your corrections.
EDIT: I think I actually worked on your page, if so, I can email you a version tonight.
