I have a feeling some special snowflake newbs complained that people were 'liking' when some of us big meanies were "mean" to them and ruined the 'like' button for everyone.

 

Well, I'm just going to use the "Thanks" button as a like button.

 

I'm highly offended that people can now declare my posts "useful" when in fact they are most likely not. Can I get my like button back now?

This thanks thing is way too obnoxious. I don't need each post's life story, I just want to give someone positive reinforcement without throwing a bunch of unproductive text on the screen.

 

If we can't have a like button because some FB ****** says "it's ours" then I think a better alternative would be to drop the 'thanks' and just have a thumbs up

apparently they had to "roll their own" with the Thanks button because the like button was not only an out dated and unsupported plugin but also as mentioned above "owned" by someone/somecompany. so, thanks it is. the size of the "people who thanked this post" box does seem to disrupt the flow

 

I suppose it would make too much sense to just say/post or reply copy with +1 or the usual similar stuff, especially since 99.9% of you are only here to kill time any way ...

Now we need a "No Thanks" button. It might turn out to be the most useful feature on here.
