Thought I'd start this thread for Vivid to keep us posted as to when/if the K&N CF heat shield will be ready. Huff: any idea's?

Belive me guys, I wish I had more to report. I have the dimentions for a DIY intake drawn out but need to add them to the forum.

 

Dude, please add those drawings. Who knows when K&N will have those carbon heatshields ready to sell. C'mon Huff! =)

I took my engine cover off about a month ago

do I need it on to use the heat shield???

 

Also, is there a heatshield thats not the CF one that we can buy to use in the meantime?

Just talked to the prodcut manager of K&N and I think I convinced him to sell the heatshields the only problem is that he said that they are gonna cost a heavy penny ... probably $250. And he is thinking of just letting Vivid distrubute them. Or something like that. Also , there is no performance gains from this heatshield as stated by him ,but it does help reduce heat soak.

 

why the hell would the heat shield cost MORE than the intake????
