For all RX8 owners! Please read!!

We at VividRacing are curious if you guys are interested in any of the dealer options available. You know like rear spoiler, accent pieces, etc. Just wondering. Let us know as we plan to stock some of these items.

You can get the footwell lights at the US dealers, I picked some up last weekend and installed them, very easy to install and very nice look at night

I would be interested in rotary accents and the appearance package, id say maintenance items but a lot of the current owners wont be needing those for 4yr/50k

For Japan parts, the B pillar garnashes, the alternate interior accents (piano black) and the illuminated shiftknob would probably be very popular and then all the interior mazdaspeed goodies too

I paid $100 at a local dealer because I wanted instant gratification of something while I was getting a few qts of oil but you can get it from trussville for $78 + shipping which looks like its $8.50

Its listed under Accessories Interior > Interior Night Lights

I have been trying to track down those Rear Aero Flares in Velocity Red. If you had those I would be willing to buy!

Yeah I'd be interested in the rear spoiler and the rotary accents if you can get better prices then the dealer.

I want that illuminated MT shift **** from Japan... but $200+ for it?? not sure about that.

I plan to get the footwell/night lights, and some front splash guards. I'm also still trying to figure out what to do about my wheels... I'm kinda thinking I'd like to put winter tires on my current stock wheels (if I can find some), and put my current stock tires on the polished wheels in the Spring.

Anyways, those are all Mazda parts, and I'd definitely consider buying them from an RX8Forum sponsor rather than someone else, as long as prices were reasonably close to what I could find elsewhere.

One final note, I only have the single CD player currently, and do intend to make some upgrades/additions at some point. I'm still also juggling the ideas of MiniDisc, MP3 player, or an aftermarket HD-based solution (Music Keg or PhatBox probably), but am hesitatant about using an RF mod, because I don't want to have to use separate controls for it.

Edit 10/06/03: Got the Music Keg this weekend

okay, that was maybe about 3c worth, thanks for tuning in.
:D

1) illuminated shifter (in red) (are the US cars wired for this?)
2) foot light thingies
3) polished rims
4) metallic door frame inserts with RX-8 on them...
5) Red raised Mazdaspeed logo calipers
6) Side strakes (?)
7) drilled rotors

Possibly, but I think that a lot of people would have got them at the time of purchase.... basically a small market.

You need to dig deep into Japan and bust open a good website, pics, descriptions and pricing!! I'm not impressed with a lot of the other websites out there so far.

Hook it up Dan! I'm also waiting for the tein setup with edfc (remember when I bought elsewhere when they first came out for the WRX? Let's throw some bones your way this time!!!!!)

Funny you should mention that. I spoke with our rep over at Tein USA and they have some being tested right now over in Japan. He said I should see some available at the beginning of the year. We'll keep you in formed.

Sorry this post is a little behind. I would love the Euro spoiler lip most o fall.(can't find it anywhere) I got my 8 delivered with the rot.accents/front,rear,side body kit/clear blinkers and polished strakes. I would love the starter button in the U.S. too. I would also like a kit for a radar mount above the rear view mirror. I have seen some people do this in the audio part of this site but a kit for us less tech minded would be good. I would also really love some other accents kits for the piano black areas. Maybe billet alum/carbon (but on more areas than the stock surfaces). HOw about a new back for the front seats. Mine gets beat up by my 2 year old.

Thats about it for now, sorry its so long
Thanks for asking

I'd go footwell lights.. but only if it's as easy to install as the accents hehehe

Are they red? Anyone got the instructions to scan?

Shoot, I still got my strakes in the box cuz I'm too lazy as it looks too involved.. :p

My install took about 45 minutes. IIRC, took about three minutes to open hood and disconnect battery. About 10 minutes to locate the proper color coded wires to tap into. 10 minutes to install the driver's side (DS) light. 15 minutes figuring out how to pass the passenger side (PS) light though the center block. Tip, use a bright light on PS to shine light through to DS, and use a striaghtned out hanger to pass PS light to PS. 5 minutes to mount PS light. About 10 minutes cleaning up-using wire cables, putting moulding back on DS by door (forgot to mentioned the removal of this earlier), hooking battery back up. All in all, well worth the effort.
