2004 Rx8 GT 6SP MT – Exotic Speed S1-T Catback – K&N Typhoon II Intake

I just got this installed on Saturday March 27th 2010. Weight reduction and free flow are a big plus for this. Installation was Simple if you have a hardware kit – but most of the hardware Depending on your Cat-back don’t fit right, esp the Spring bolts. Remember that the Header Bolt heads don’t turn, they are locked in place, and you turn the Nuts on them, suggestion is to get some royal purple Penetrating Lubricant hitting each bolt both sides, and where the pipes come together and let it sit for a good 10 minutes or more and then the nuts come right off. First startup noticed more smoke than normal obviously since emission restriction cat was gone, and idle was much louder and grumble, much like a modded srt4 without the turbo spool. Once you give it low RPM’s it retains the tone of your Exhaust well for mine is very deep. when you get over the 3500rpm+ and the secondary injectors fire it releases the Rotary screaming and sounds like a race car. can definitely tell it rev’s up and down faster, and noticed a significant power Boost for sure. if you have an already loud exhaust with the Cat – beware because it is EXTREMELY Loud and mine produces 6”+ Fireballs when running for awhile and revving up to around 5500-8000RPM and letting off. I am Very happy with this product and THM’s service to get it and the price they offer it for! can’t go wrong! just be careful and shift low when Police are around because i Guarantee you’ll get a ticket if you Romp down on it
