I just bought a black 2006 Shinka in July also!!!! Try checking the coolant level, maybe u don't have enough and when its circulating through the engine it lowers and the sensor is reading it as low coolant .... I use the crude control and keep it around 3500 rpm which is like 80 mph when ur on 6th gear ... welcome BTW.

Try the search feature. All your answers are a click away. The coolant light issue has been addressed numerous times and discussion of performance modifications have been beat to death.

You dont have cruise control? Performance wise, for power theres not a lot you can do fornreal power without going fi.
I have the agency power exhaust and that didnt make much of a difference at all other than its loud and funner to drive. Aem cold air intake is the only intake that will be an upgrade over the stock on, but not a lot of difference. But swapping the cat with a midpipe made quite a bit of difference and then deletes the chance of ruining the cat and causing more problems.
The exhaust and intake on our cars were made very efficient, so changing doesnt do a whole lot other change the sound.
There are lots of threads worth all the reading. Especially the threads for new rotary owners, if you dont read that and dont already know your motor wont last to long. If you take all of whats said to heart then you will love your car.
Your never going to get the best mpg out of the 8, but it helps not to drive it like a piston motor and shift real early. If you keep your oil and coolant level correct and use only premium and shift to where you still have power in your next gear but not to high they do all rite. Like 4-4500 rpm. Youll get used to it.
Whe i got mine i tried gettin better mpg like i would a piston motor, i babied it around shiftin early, givin it hardly any gas and got poor mileage. So i started drivin a little funner, givin it a little more gas and it got a decent amount better and was a lot funner to drive. Plus that keeps the motor oiled and happy.
Hittin high rpm all day on these cars is to much fun, i cant keep my foot out of it. But doing so i got about 10 mpg lol. but read all the forums like he said and you will be much happier with your purchase. I did it and learned a lot more that i wouldve thought. Dont get lazy, read it all or youll regret it.
