Spell Checker

I don't know if this topic have been dicussed earlier or not, but I think it would cut down on a lot of the spelling mistakes that members sometimes miss. Just thought I'd throw this idea around and see what people thinks.

Personally, I don't care if you can spell. However, if you string together words that don't make sense, then you'll **** me off. Some people tend to misspell frequently. BFD. Cry me a river, build me a bridge, and get over it. If you constantly have to point out misspelled words, become an elementary English teacher. Spell check is for high school. Making sense is more important.

IMO the problem is exactly that some people have this kind of attitude towards spelling and errors. No offense and nothing personal, this is more of a general statement.
It DOES make an unfavorable impression about a person on a message board or otherwise if the written text is full of mistakes, so yes, this is a BFD.

I agree that making sense is probably more important, but learning how to spell properly is almost equally important too. I, for one, tend to take people less seriously if they can not write correctly and make constant blatant mistakes - even if they do make sense otherwise. I'm surely not the only one thinking this way.

I think if I could learn how to write more or less properly in English as my third language, those who have it as their mother tongue should possibly do better and definitely should care. The worst is when these people even get offended when their mistakes are pointed out. Talk about a bonehead reaction... instead, they should take notice and try to improve.

So there... now I'm off my soapbox :D

Exclamation spelling assistance= great idea

I think it would cut down on a lot of the spelling mistakes

For those who appreciate and will use this tool, a spell checker would be useful. I would use it.
