I would like to mention a rule that I suggest be reinforced:

From the Forum Rules of Conduct:

10. Do not start threads on religion or politics in the Lounge area or anywhere else in this forum. Experience with the forum has proven that religious and political discussions inevitably become flamefests, which are prohibited (see the first rule above). So don't start them.

I don't think it's the threads that are to blame, but people who can't control themselves(myself included at times). People get out of hand when a discussion comes up where there are strong opinions. That should be kept to a minimum but I don't think any thread recently falls under this generalization.

How about you stop making comments that are geared deliberately towards inciting flame wars. Because it's just getting stupid. If you had been paying any kind of attention recently, we have tried to allow politcal threads IF everyone in them was polite and didn't try to cause problems. However, that is rapidly going down the tubes because certain posters can't control themselves.
