Not a fan.....

Of the new mobile site option asking me everytime I change pages if I want that version. Just because I am viewing from a phone doesn't mean the mobile version is required or even better than the normal view, quite the opposite for me. Is there anyway to make this request only once, perhaps on initial entry or something. Really irritating having to click cancel every time I change pages.
THANKS

This should not be happening. Please delete the cookies on your phone and re-visit the site. You should only be forced to respond to the pop-up one time per day.

cheers,
robb

Robb.

I was just able to duplicate the issue on my Droid Incredible phone (Android version 2.2)
I cleared the cache and cookies on the phone but as soon as I visit the site, I am prompted to view the Mobile version.

I declined and proceeded to login
I was again prompted to view the mobile version, I declined.
I then clicked 'new posts' and was again prompted to view the mobile site.

It appears to happen every time I change pages.

thanks for looking into this

I was able to login and surf the site and it only prompted me when initially connecting to m.rx8club.com. Did they correct the issue? Or does it work as expected with the iphone?

Hi Jedi,

This appears to be an Android 2.2 issue only. We are definitely in agreement that this is an issue though!

I will update once we've fixed it.

cheers,
robb

thanks Robb.

If it's of any help to you, I was using Android 2.1 yesterday (before receiving the update this morning) and it was doing the same thing.

Thanks for looking into this and for the quick reply.

why isn't it working on your work PC?
that's odd.

on your phone, if you scroll all the way to the bottom, is there a button for "normal version"
I see it on my phone, and I am able to switch to the normal view. It just then prompts me to check out the mobile site at every opportunity.
you can't switch at ALL or you get the pop up?

Hey jedi, I am told this is fixed. please clear your cookies, and check it out

If it is still giving you issues, please post up your complete process from start to finish, so that we can try the same thing.

i had a browser problem on my pc. that's fixed now.

on the phone, i'd click normal version and it'd try to load rx8club then forward back to m.rx8club.com. i only chose to use mobile site the first time and it never asked again.

as of this morning though i can switch between the two no problem.

Robb,

I have confirmed that this is indeed fixed for Android 2.0+
Thanks for the quick resolution.

Have a great weekend,

Not working for me with Windows Mobile phone (OS Version 6.5.3). Cleared all my cookies, cache, history, passwords.

Whenever I try to go to https://www.rx8club.com after a few seconds it reverts back to the full site.

Anyone else got this working with Windows Mobile 6.5.3 or earlier versions?

robrecht, if you're using a browser that isn't throwing a mobile useragent, you won't be able to see the mobile site.

cheers,
robb

I'm just using the default Opera browser that comes standard with Windows Mobile 6.5.3 on HTC phones with the Sense 2.5 UI. Is that 'a browser that isn't throwing a mobile useragent'?

I've also tried the latest version of Mobile Internet Explorer that also comes standard (but not default) with Windows Mobile 6.5.3. It also does not work with the mobile site.
