also, it should include common newb questions and answers. like, have the questions listed, and the threads that answer them right after.

Lock them in there until 5 posts? Sounds good.

i don't think lock them in there. maybe only let them post in certain sections, such as the newbie section, the regional club sections, and maybe the technical help section. some people join just for the help w/ problems, some for meets, etc.

Interesting idea- maybe it would stave off some of the "Search, N00b!!! threads.

are you planning on getting an RX-8?

Im still on why you created an account on an RX-8 forum and felt the need to offer up a new thread for noobs...

and how your sig pic is flaunting your GP's race times... no one on here gives a crap lol

sorry I'm not a dick usually but it's just wierd IMHO

like I dont create an account on your forum because you dont have a (e.g. west section) (you might im just stating an ex.)

anyway...

my friend owns an rx-8. he's not the most car savvy person so i figured i'd help him out and get on a forum to try and see why his car is slow and try to fix his headlights.

no! i forgot which forum it is, but they have this rule and it blows. i got frustrated and canceled my account. you can't post, send messages, or interact with non n00bs. not fair.

I am the inquirer and I'm inquirering on **** for my buddy because if you'd read you'd understand why I'm on here and not him. He's not car savvy. I'm helping him out.

Sadly, I doubt it. Noob's wont read stickies, why would they read a newbie section? They'll just figure it's all full of noobs who know nothing, and proceed to post their question thats already been answered anyways.

I might be just another n00blar here, but I'm far from a newb when it comes to auto forums in general. I search, and I read all the stickies. OK not all. OK, not even most. Just the important-looking ones.

Anyway, to the OP, from one new member to another, your sig is really gratuitous and weird and obnoxious. I can think of few cars that are more out of place on an RX-8 forum than a Grand Prix...

That's all.

i dont' know why you all really seem to find me on this forum such a big issue. read up and you will understand why i'm on this forum. you all are really making this community seem somewhat shitty in my eyes.

Nothing against you man. Your intentions are probably good. It's just that your sig is obviously going to attract attention, and is certainly out of place in a model-specific forum like this.

My first impression of this community is that it's pretty good.

We could start with Forum Rules, like Sig's with graphics that are too large.

1. Custom signatures are enabled, but any graphics used in such signatures are limited to a 20K file size with dimensions no larger than 500 pixels x 200 pixels.

and it's 504px by 180px?

ok i'm done arguing why i'm here. i've stated it, i personally care less that you all are so taken by the fact that a guy w/ a grand prix is on your forums being a good friend. if you all seriously feel the need to continue to argue you should post a topic.

Ok enough of everyone's arguing. A new members welcome section is a good idea, a few of the other forums i'm on have it as well. But here most people just introduce themselves in the RX8 General Discussion section, or the Multimedia section.

So let me get this straight...........you want to create a " I'm-a-noob-pick-on-me" section? Or maybe "Lets-pick-on-noobs" section? I doubt that any newbie would even bother looking in that section..... and again..I'm agreed with Socket7 on this one. It would just be useless and would die out eventually. lol
