The change looks awesome!!!

RK 04-28-2009 11:50 AM

Looks great. Love the colors and like that the logo is by itself and no longer intermingling with the car.

hey dark why do you have streaking while i have this dotted section

and we're both using firefox? also note how the header pic hangs over the nav bar just a smidgen- thats what i was going to fix by resizing it later

boanjangnararmine 04-28-2009 12:04 PM

i have a suggestion:

the banner could be randomized to show a different picture of an rx8 each time the page is loaded.
that way, we could have multiple angles/colors/trims(R3) represented in the forum banner.

example (look at the banner for finalgear and then refresh the page):

http://www.finalgear.com/

Hey zoom it looks different for me. The background color stretches all the way across for me with the RX8 in the center.

KWarner04 04-28-2009 12:05 PM

I get the streaking too. The background on the header needs to be changed.

This line:

Code:

<!-- logo -->
<a name="top"></a>
<table border="0" width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">
<tr>
        <td align="left"><a href="index.php"><img src="https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=137943&stc=1&d=1240936252" border="0" alt="RX8Club.com" /> </a></td>

<td width="100%" height="76" background="images/misc/logo2-bg.jpg"></td>

</tr>
</table>
<!-- /logo -->

images/misc/logo2-bg.jpg needs to be updated to match the background of the new image. It's not hard to do, just needs to be done.

its hard when you dont know how ;)i see the issue let me look around. i gotta figure this stuff out on my own or have folks point me in the right direction

Gyro_Bot 04-28-2009 12:21 PM

I'd like to help out with vectorizing the logo, so it will be easier for you to scale it, without having to clean up the image every time.

Looking Good!

(Sorry I HAD TO EDIT THIS POST - it didn't come off as encouraging as I hoped!)
Big Hurk Below, has my quote... if anyone wants to know how to fail at soliciting to help out, well.. there it is below.

The logo, needs to be vectorized by a member. Otherwise it will always pixelate like that when you scale it.

Or perhaps, someone just needs to reproduce a high rez version that can be scaled down.

Either way, it's difficult, but worth it.

yea i think a hi res version would be great, might as well because HD monitors are becoming more popular.

also another thing is can we get more color themes for the page so were not just stuck with --Dark Style and --Lite

crikey- it started already. try to do something and immediately its more more more. how about letting me figure out why i cant get this quite right before asking for animated headers and rotating colors and whole new styles.

lol my bad. :uhh:

zoom44 04-28-2009 12:57 PM

gyro its not pixelating- or at least that is not hte issue im currently trying to fix. the issues is the header pic notcovering the backround. watch some people are seeing as stretching is actually the back round pic you can see in the "non 37-" lite style.

what i just tried- replacing the path for it to look at that backround with the path to the new header pic didnt work.

or at least didnt appear to- just had a thought maybe the cookies prevented me from seeing the change....

zoom44 04-28-2009 01:00 PM

hmmmm not the cookie

Ace of Spade757 04-28-2009 01:01 PM

Zoom, I've PM'ed you, get with me and we'll implement a nice stretchy banner to accommodate all browser resolutions

Bunique 04-28-2009 01:20 PM

Looks good.

endowdly 04-28-2009 01:22 PM

...the new header is fantastic!

pdxhak 04-28-2009 01:22 PM

Is everyone not seeing the header stretched across their browser? It is for me with Safari and FireFox.

alnielsen 04-28-2009 01:23 PM

It does look good, thou I rarely notice it.

Yes, it it is too long.

Rotr8 04-28-2009 01:23 PM

yeah Im not a coder either but I think Darklord is touching on what we're all talking about...

KWarner04 04-28-2009 01:25 PM

Zoom44, can you get onto the server where the forum is actually hosted?

There should be a folder on the server at this location:

"rx8club.com/images/misc/".

In that folder, there's a file called "logo2-bg.jpg" This image is the blurring that people are seeing and doesn't match. You need to create a new background that is equivalant to the edge of the new logo. Should only be 1 pixel wide so that it will tile across the x-axis. This will make the image blend with the background.

If you need me to create the background image, let me know.

dondo 04-28-2009 01:26 PM

mine has the dots like zoom with safari

HockeyRX-8 04-28-2009 01:26 PM
