more smilies

it's been bothering me for awhile, but there doesn't seem to be enough since most of the ones available I don't like.

Dear Mr./Mrs. Fuz

Like the form letter? We'll start tweaking the smilies from the defaults.

I vote to have smilie restraint. Heck, people can always use a million of them out there. Otherwise we will have too many. On one of my forums, the users all wanted more smilies and the other mod/admin uploaded them. Now I have threads with a lot of smilies and little content.

Bleh... sorry for being negative.

We all agree!

See?

I agree with RandyC you see. (Sorry. :p)
Check out some other boards with lots of smilies and really elaborate emoticons. It looks really garish, and it soon becomes a contest of who can use the most emoticons in a single post.

There needs to be a balance. Too little is no fun, too many leaves little reason for people to use words. Right now, I don't think there is enough.

Why dont you just remove the existing emoticons and replace them with new ones? That way there is the same amount of smilies as before and we don't end up with a smilie population explosion.

Problem sorted
