Why don't you post another "locals only" sign. That way you could claim your own territory, while not being grouped in with everyone else, yet still collect federal subsidies and deny access to the very folks helping to fund it?

suck em up brah

I think in order to get your own regional area you have to show massive activity by your group alone, which the Hawaii people aren't doing on RX8Club.com.

Oh Razzie...

Why is it always you that has to be an obnoxious ***? We (the military) took the islands. They do not want to "claim" their own territory. They want it back, dumbass. XOXOXO

oh pappy...

I was not referring to statehood or territory in a geographical OR historical sense. I was referring to the "Locals Only" signs I've seen there before at beachside State Parks. Although it's obvious that reading comprehension is not your forte, I'm sure you're versed with the term F.O.A.D.

Feel free to email me if you wish to discuss this further, so as to not trash this board with any more worthless piddle.

Being called a dumbass by a ******** really doesn't flip my skirt. Could you rethink your assessment and try again?

I appologize for my initial reply. It was uncalled for.

I was stationed in Hawaii for 3 years one time. During the last week we were there, I took my family to a beachside State Park. Even though the beach was deserted, we were asked to leave by a State Park ranger. He told us it was a "locals only" beach. I guess I'm still a little bitter from that experience.

Having lived in Hawaii AND Alaska previously, I still get pissed at every national news channel for not showign the weather in EITHER of the two states. It's BS!

On a sportbike forum I used to frequent, they had an AK/HI/other regional group. Made sense, since there weren't a whole lot of us. I don't like getting overridden with all the CA posts. In the odd chance that someone from HI posts here, it disappears from the first screen within a few hours sometimes.

Raz, I understand your bitterness. I used to get a kick out of the "locals" that always made a hugh deal out of being local. Most of them were born there, but their families were of something other than native Hawaiian decent. Guess what, I had a Honolulu address. That makes me local, DAMNIT! I'd love to see what would happen if the military pulled out of Hawaii completely. The place would fall out monitarily. Then it'd be more overrun with MORE tourists that can't drive and read a map at the same time.

Nice place to visit, but I'd NEVER do another 3yr tour there.

True blooded Hawaiians make up for less than 3% of the total Hawaiian island population, with most of them living on the Big Island, yet my family was asked to leave a STATE PARK no less, by a ranger. I had absolutely nothing against the Hawaiian diverse culture, as many of my friends were "locals." I was more bitter against a beuacracy that would allow the promotion of demographic prejudice.

The beach was vacant.

Okay, Bra... Wednesday was so far back now. Where's da pics?!? Makakilo makes for some good beach pics. Or up Tantalus. Doesn't really matter; everything there makes a good backdrop.

a recommendation for hawaii folks

if you're looking to get an 8 on oahu, i HIGHLY recommend cutter ala moana. i bought my first used rx8 from cutter waipahu, and i have my current 06 rx8 which i got from cutter ala moana. the guys at ala moana are way better and the overall expierience was much more satisfying. just food for thought...ala moana's selection is WAY better too!!!

I just spent a week on Kauai, and saw two RX-8s - a forest green one on the north side of the island, on Sunday morning, and a white one on Sunday afternoon between Koloa and Poipu on Poipu beach road.

And all I could think the entire time I was there was "damn, I wish I had my -8 and where are the -8 owners on this island?

Is there a Mazda store on Kauai? If so, I'd guess it's in Lihue - that seemed to be where the car dealerships were located.
