Button to report spammers and innapropriate posts

I have seen a lot of spammers lately on the site and a lot of newbies that just like to come on and do nothing but cause trouble.

How about a button to report these types of posts to a moderator instantly?

There is one!
It's the little triangle on the bottom left with the exclamation point!
There are a few of us that even use it........however mostly for spammers.

Okay how about this suggestion: Replace the triangle icon with text that says "REPORT" so dumb asses like me know it's there!

Nuh uh! I just looked:

This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts.
"Tool" is not allowed by the rules. Dammit.

"This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts."

^^^
If some is getting banned for being rude then, 6 out of 10 members on this forum will get banned.

I have seen hundreds and hundreds of comments posted by members that have "words that most people considered rude" ...such as...... F-words, idiot, moron, tool, MF, ***, etc,... and phrases that considered rude by majority of society.

If that happens, half of the forum members will be gone. lol.....that wouldn't be good..would it?

eh, Mods let people who actually contribute to the site in a positive way have a little bit of slack as long as they don't go out of their way to rail on people. When they do go to far, they get the ban hammer like everyone else.

If all you do is troll in the lounge though, who knows...

On a serious note, I've noticed that the vast majority of bots post in the General Automotive section.

This puzzled me for a while, then I figured out why. Nearly every forum has a "General Discussion" section (RX8 Club's is titled "The Lounge," which bucks the system). In most cases the General Discussion forum would be where the most people read and post. I'm pretty sure the bots are programmed to look for a forum with "General" in the title and spam it to oblivion, which is why General Automotive gets the most spam.

lol..Was it a sarcasm?..Are you singling me and my comments out cuz I had a different view on "Street Racing Kills"? Sorry to disappoint you, dude ..cuz if you have paid a bit more attention to all the comments written by others, you'd find that I wasn't the only person who had a different view on the subject.

Don't worry I'm not here to start drama...so I'll ignore you and your comments from now on.

Peace!

I forget what the sign-up process was for RX-8 club (seeings as how its been a few years...) but do we have one of those confirmation codes with an image of the letters? That might foil some bots.

CAPTCHA, the system you speak of was recently broken by some hackers.

If googles CAPTCHA system can be exploited, so can any one we use here.
