ads in the way

I wish this site didnt have any of the pop down ads that are now on this site. they get in the way all the time when i close them they come right back. am i the only one that has this problem?

Use Firefox with the NoScript addon....it doesn't allow adverts to script, thus it kills all that crap on all websites. The only downside is that some websites require JavaScript, thus you have to play around with it at first. But it's really slick when you get it all figured out and set up.

I use Firefox w/Adblock Plus to get rid of adds. There is also a way to edit your Hosts file in Windows to redirect calls to the site that provides these ads. Someone has it in in their sig.

Find the hosts file...on my xp system it's in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc.

Add the line:

0.0.0.0 rx8club.us.intellitxt.com

Other sites also have the accursed green links. Besides the above, I have

0.0.0.0 kona.kontera.com

in my hosts file. I think that works for several sites. You can often dope out what to dump overboard by checking the properties of the green link.

thanks for the feed back guys. the only ads that are a problem are the ones for toyotas cash 4 clunkers. all the other ones and rx8 vendor are fine.

I hate the uckin pop ups. There always getting in the way even though i try to avoid them.
