I think it'd be great if we could create calendar events that would go into a moderation queue for approval (so that there's no spam) to make it easier to find information about upcoming events in people's areas. I know that sometimes I forget to check the state specific areas but events are generally easy to see and would be a quick and easy way to get info about upcoming events.

If a frontpage were created, or vBAdvanced were installed, it would make it even easier to see events and recent threads, etc, directly at the site frontpage. (vbAdvanced is free)

I just noticed you can create events.. oh well I'm stupid.. anyways.. the frontpage idea still stands
