Dodge Neon rental for 3 weeks?
Dodge Neon rental for 3 weeks?
So, i get the recall letter (emission/engine) recall and they have to do the whole test and see if I need a new engine. The service tech says 2-3 weeks, cool, no loaners so I get a free rental for the entire time from Enterprise. Turns out the dealership pays for the crappy cars, I'm stuck with a Dodge Crapon ( Neon ), NO not an SRT4, a plain jane for 3 weeks... Hrm ;\ can i complain to mazda corporate and get something done? or to anyone? i don't want this crap for 3 weeks lol what did u guys get? I know CX-7's but my dealership said they only do enterprise rentals, WTF!? no loaners?
There is a difference in Mazda service as opposed to BMW. If you take a 5 series to BMW then your loaner is at least a 5 series. If you take in a 33k RX-8, you get a 10k Mazda 3 with manual everything or a Neon in your case.
I am not a big fan of bimmers but I do think the policy of loaning out a car of the same value is a good policy.

You know the old joke about WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PORCUPINE AND A BMW?

no, your reading it right, its 2-3 weeks, and i just left it in for the tests, no new engine yet, just tests and he says 2-3 weeks??? and then additional time if I require repair or a new engine install, WHY SO LONG!?
i bought my car last month, got a call yesterday for the recall so i'm taking my car this friday. they told me it'll take a day so hopefully i won't get a neon. if i do, i 'll reschedule and demand something better. haha.

I was in a Neon loaner for 2 weeks when my car was being fixed after an accident. It blew. BIG TIME. Sigh.
Currently having my 8 worked on right now, They gave me a 07 Dodge Caliber rental for a few days. Called me today and had me turn it back in(to keep from paying enterprise no doubt), they ended up giving me a 06 Mazda 6 loaner for now. Not bad, its no sportscar though.
dropped my car off monday at noon, got tested for new engine (no new engine for dills), got the latest flash, and got 4 new sparkplugs, the car was back in my driveway in 24 hours tuesday afternoon.
do you have another dealer within a close drive?

I'll be picking up my RX-8 tomorrow morning after leaving it at the dealer today. Enterprise first offered me a Durango which I turned down since I didn't want to be driving a gigantic SUV. I was then given a Cobalt without power windows, locks, or mirrors. When I got in the car, it had 0% oil life and on my way home from work today, I saw the digital coolant display climb to a maximum of 217 degrees. Yikes!
Well, you could try and make the most of it:

Not allways true. A friend of mine had his 6 month old wagon in (can't remember the model # but it was around a 60k wagon) they had to keep it for 2 weeks and gave him a buick minivan to drive!
