Smallest size wheels you can run on a RX8?
Smallest size wheels you can run on a RX8?
This may be a stupid question, and one that's been asked at least once before, but I was unable to find a readily apparent answer, so I thought I'd ask:
What is the smallest size wheels you can run on a MT rx8 sport? I would imagine it's probably 17", but I didn't think the rotors and calipers would be so big as to eliminate 16" (even thought it would probably look HORRIBLE...).
Thanks

With the bigger brakes 17"... on the base model 16". They have an oem 16' wheel for the base model 8's...
EDIT:
More infor from Gord96BRG:
"the 16" wheels were only stock on the BASE auto trans version, which had smaller brakes and a softer suspension. On any auto RX-8 with an option package (ie above the Base model), and on ALL manual RX-8s, the cars had bigger brakes and firmer suspension. 16" wheels will not fit over the bigger brakes, so 16" wheels won't even fit on 90% of the RX-8s out there (at a guess as to percentage of Base Auto RX-8s at less than 10% of total RX-8 production). Even some 17" wheels can't clear the front brakes!"
