Mazda Canada confirmation - Same deal

Hi guys,

Just got my confirmation from Mazda Canada.

Same deal here:

buy back the car
or
3 years of free service (not 4 like USA) + 500$ CDN.

We will all receive a letter this week.

sorry if my english is not perfect

NOT the same deal:
Canada cars have 36 months warranty, USA have 48

Canada owners get $500 Canadian back.
USA owners get $500 U.S back.

That's 1/4 less "free service" and $200 less cash for us Canucks.

...on a car which cost you over $2000 less than the US equivalent.

Can't use that reasoning... The only entity which lost out in the exchange is Mazda, not Canadians. In fact, I'd say this car costs us 25-30% more of our take-home pay than what Americans have to face. Because our currency on the internation market is worth less, it's not actually indicative of our similar standard of living to Americans. In fact, with typically higher Canadian taxes (or less tax write-offs such as mortgage interest), and relatively similar average income numbers, cars (and most other goods for that matter - except for maybe maple syrup) cost us a whole lot more of our take-home percentage than Americans. Roughly speaking, we need a minimum of $90K salary to afford a loaded complete RX-8 (without Nav/sunroof) after taxes. There's no living expenses available after that, just 1 car. BTW, $90K/yr is a pretty damn good job, most civil servants don't get to even $70K.

So what?
Cars almost always cost more in the USA.
This has absolutely nothing to do with the issue.

If you are so happy with Mazda'a behaviours in this, why are you on this list?

Are you here just to harass the rest of us?

Look at it this way:
If those of us who are trying to gather facts and DO something about the problem come up with some solutions, YOU will undoubtedly be one of the beneficiaries..
