I am moving to Germany soon and would like to get my windows tinted before I leave the States.

I google searched and all I can find is 'ABG standard' used for the tint. Can anyone explain that to me please?

I just want to make sure I don't have to get the tint removed later because it is too dark.

I lived there from 94-02 with 20% and not once did I or anybody I know get pulled over or hassled about tint. Not saying there isn't a law, but just my experiance. Oh BTW.. you are going to have a blast there.

I know I'll have a blast, I was there from '94 - '99 with the Army. I was in Kaiserslautern that time. Going to Vilseck this time. I love Germany!

 

Listen it's not a for sure thing, I work in Kaiserslautern I have contacts that work at Vehicle Reg. I'll give them a call (I'll try tommorow!) and find out what is the actuall German Reg., my ****'s tinted as well but it's the stock tint and I'll be pretty much If I get stoped for something like that. As of what I've been told is that Tint isn't allowed period, but they probably figure "Eh, He's an American" Even if you do get stoped just slip them a $20 or so and they'll just let you go off with a "Warning!!!"

In the last 2 months or so Vehicle inspection people have been making people remove their tints. I am in Wiesbaden and thats whats happening here.

Yeah, the new German law along with the USAREUR regs say no tint on either the front driver or passenger windows.. Glad I didn't get any tint before I left the States! I hope you are enjoying Wiesbaden.. nice place

Sounds cool, when I was in El Paso TX all 4 of us active members on the site met up for a beer one saturday.. it was fun.

Yeah they are tottally being **** about it and the mp's are walking around giving people tickets on foot! but you can only get one a month
