I'm in the planning stages of my stereo upgrade on my '05 Shinka. I am planning on installing a carputer in the trunk, w/touchscreen in the center portion of the dash - pretty much right where the HU is right now. I figured I would start by ordering a replacement trim panel for the center portion of the dash so that I can return everything to stock just in case things should go terribly wrong somewhere along the way. Does anyone outhere have a P/N for the gloss black trim peice around the HU (price would be helpful too).

Any suggestions for a touchscreen? I have seen a butt-load of the Lilliput 7.1" screens on eBay for next to nothing. Does anybody have any experience with these? I am planning on building my own carputer with parts purchased from various on-line suppliers - any suggetions for parts or suppliers?

Also just curious - how many of you out there actually have a spare tire? I would like to take mine out to make more room for subs and amps............the important stuff. My husband is strongly dicouraging this - he wants to know what I plan on doing in the event of a flat tire. My response - "Call AAA.".

Do a mac mini carputer. You can mount it in plenty of different places, it's cheap, fast, and it won't get viruses or crash. You can stow a bluetooth keyboard/mouse in the glove compartment, and you can sync your bluetooth phone with the computer/radio for automuting and audio routing.

you can look at the stuff.... i have a 8 inch lillyput on my dash have been very happy with it...

the xenarc stuff is top notch. just for what i use my screen for it was not worth the extra bucks...
