The '04 auto tranny does not make 238 hp.

I believe it is 197 hp. You should correct that or you willl make a bad impression on folks interested in your car. No one wants to buy a car from someone who comes across as dishonest.

That being said, it seems like a pretty good deal for an automatic.

you are right... and wrong, but mostly wrong
6 ports make 232hp (or whatever rating system you use).
but... you don't have a 6 port.
auto's came with 4 port renesis' in 04, therefore your specs are indeed wrong.
unless you somehow managed to swap a 6 port in. (and even then, you wouldn't be making 232 since the redline is still capped)

As stated before that is not the engine in the car (unless swap has been made). And no an automatic is more like 7 seconds for 0-60. Even if the engine swap was made the autotic wouldnt be able to handle 9000 rpm, and that as they say is that.

Ok I guess I should have thought before I spoke, so I admit I don't know **** about the RX-8 or anything MAZDA for that matter. It's my girlfriends car hince why it's an automatic in the first place. Your right. I looked up the specs for the auto and it is less. I originally looked it up on the mazda site and took the specs directly from there so it was an over sight on my part by not paying closer attention. It's still a good price for the car with the Grand Touring package.

If my pending purchaser is reading this I stand corrected. The car has 197-horsepower. If you want to back out I understand and have no problems with it.

CARS SUCK...RIDE MOTORCYCLES!!!
