Question Emanage and Nitrous ???Need Help!!!

Hi Guys and Gals,
Charles Hill and I are headed the same way with our ntrous set-up! I hope to go as high as a 100 shot (I believe CH wants 150) on my N/A 8 and I am using emange to change AFR and ingition curves to achieve this. But, I looked on the forum and can't seem find answers to the questions I have...

1. What is a good AFR to start with? Do I need to install another bung and O2 sensor installed in front of the Cat if, I have the plug and play harness with the 3 adapters?

2. EGT's? What is the danger zones(min./max. temps.)?

3. Ingition curves vs. RPM? I need to start with a 4 degree Retard of the ingition!(75 shot starting piont)

Any help will be greatly appreciated on this subject because I am as green as they when it comes to tuning!!!!!!

Not trying to be rude, but considering the questions you are asking, you have a lot more research ahead of you before you should attempt this.

1) Go for 11 as a starting point. You absolutely MUST install a WB02

2) I think that 1200 is a safe temp for EG on the Renesis

3) whatever you do, DO NOT install the GReddy ignition harness. I have learned that there is SUBSTANTIAL interference between the eManage ignition circuitry and the PCM ignition circuitry. You will very likely introduce between-channel intereference that can cause misfires and large magnitude detonations. Building an isolation circuit between the RPM extraction dongle and the PCM appears to help, but I wouldn't try it until there is some further research done on the matter.

In fact, the above interference is the essence of the problems with the R flash. It seems to have changed the ground plane of the PCM igntion circuitry in such a way as to cause the ignition intereference even without the ignition harness installed on the emanage. I believe the new dongle was supposed to improve the isolation, but it doesn't.

Your best bet is to only control fuel using the emanage. Check out the GReddy turbo fixes for the best way to add fuel, or my thread called "better fuel management using the emanage". I was at about 260 whp before needing to control ignition. Now, I am nvestigating alternate EMS solutions.

Like I said I am very green at this I have done some research on emanage but there is limited info. on Emanage on N/A 8's. There is plenty on turboed 8's; I just wanted a good idea for a starting point and I just seen so many different AFR's and EGT's! I just wanted a definite answer before I dove into this....So, you don't think I need to retard the ingition any? Because Zex recommends a 4 degree retard of the ingition for a 75 shot!

I didn't say you wouldn't have to retard the ignition. I said don't do it with the emanage ignition harness. I also said I didn't have to with my turbo setup until I was going over 260whp.

a stock rx8 egt runs about 1690 temp, at 8800rpm
if you run a e-manage ultimate you can run ignition retard without no problem
