Touch-up Paint

I tried buying some touch up paint to apply to the bottom of the front air dam of my car but AMR claims they can only sell it to a certified repair shop. I can't be bothered messing around with that since there's only a very tiny gap I need to fill. Does anyone know where I can buy the official paint in Sunlight Silver?

Call your local Mada Parts Dealer. It's there.

Ok, well it sounds like AMR just being *******. They were trying to get me to take it to a repair shop "of their recommendation" so that may explain this "policy".

kasar - you're right - they're being *******. I got a tube of touch up paint gratis when I bought my demo car.

I bought some winning blue touch up paint from AMR about a month ago. Just go to the spare parts department in George St Leichhardt and ask for it.

Well I called up AMR again, and they said they don't have any in stock "and no other dealership in NSW has it either". So I called up Tom Kerr in Ryde and they had some in stock. Went and picked it up on Saturday.

Hey kasar, just so I know who to avoid (or simply not trust) - is AMR the Artarmon dealer?

No, AMR is the Leichhardt/Petersham dealer.

Thanks for that - makes sense - I've heard nothing but bad stuff about them.

Is the touch up paint that you guys have genuine Mazda? The bottle I got from City Mazda is non-genuine and might as well be red.....so crap is the colour match on my Winning Blue.

The touch-up paint I got was genuine Mazda. It was $12.95 and matches the sunlight silver paint in my car almost perfectly. Metallic paint is generally harder to touchup since it has shiny bits inside but this stuff is reasonably good.
I had a chat to the guys at Tom Kerr and they said they'd be able to arrange mail order so you might want to try that way.

I have "genuine" Mazda VR touch up paint, which is pretty bad. I guess it's hard to match because of the mica, but this is a pretty poor attempt
