Baltimore Car and Truck Show 2006
Baltimore Car and Truck Show 2006
Well, I was in my first non-local show last weekend (march 18, 2006). The president of my car club and I (the VP) drove over to Baltimore, MD on Friday the 17th for the First annual Baltimore Car and Truck Show. It was a great experience. I learned alot. I didn't walk home with any awards, but I didn't expect to. The car that won First place in the Mazda Class was literally parked 15 feet from my 8. It too was an RX-8. Pics at the end. I drive my 8 every day, so I had alot of road grime to get off of it. we got there @ 9:30 on friday morning and didnt leave until 3:30 that afternoon. the whole time we were wiping down and waxing. I have a decent amount of things done to my 8, for only having it for 6 months. I unfortunately don't have the funds that almost all of the cars being shown there had. Well, enough of my blabbing, here's the pics. oh yeah, almost forgot. most of the pics the room looks really empty. thats because by that time most of the cars werent there. the room was full by the next day.

I think your car looks great - what color is it? I like your paint job better than the one that beat you.

I think you just need to work on some of the finishing touches, and you'll be OK. Like...covering up the RCA inputs to the TV screen in the trunk, and closing the fuel door.....Oh and that smiley face keychain has gotta go.....but your paintwork looks good from here. I haven't seen a nicely painted pass-through like that before.

Well to let you know the guy that one that award is the guy that was in the No pistons magazine i think.. he was in some tuner magazine.. his car has been though alot to get there.. from the specs i saw in the book.. he has dumped well over 10K on it.. has rear view cameras put into his mirrors and the monitors on his dash.. that's the coolest thing i liked about the set up.. everything else was custom stuff done to it.. i truely think they did a good choice.. your car is still good.. but dont be to mad on who they choosen.. he put alot of time and effort into that car.
