Just booked my Murcotts Driver Training Course

Yup well couldn't wait for FOTW who just recently bought an 8 here in Adelaide....so I booked my Driver Training Day.....Hopefully I can take the day off that I booked....

After seeing the video and reading the posts about the skid pan day I thought...yeah I can do this!

So April is the month for me......

Sweet, you'll enjoy it heaps. Only problem is, its not really similar to the skid-pan day the Vic's just had. Its more of a braking + classroom exercise.

What he said. No roundy roundies - more brake and turn kinda thing.

Still, it's a bit of fun to see how well the 8 performs next to 'lesser' cars.

I did Level 2 aswell as some other guys here have, and it was comforting to understand a bit more about the car (especially about DSC on and off ).

Dave.. dont really compare to other cars, most the cars there arent even worth 1/4 of the rx8. Yes its interesting to c how the other cars manage.. some cars now i will utterly refuse to get into
Yup we do this course every year.....so I nearly didn't book for it and then I thought....I'll take a day A/L and enjoy myself with no-one watching.....looking 4ward to it actually...would prefer it to be a skid pan day though... But later in the year our Alfa club holds a driver training day...last year I taught 2 mums how to do a reverse flick in their Falcon wagons..... They had fun and also learnt what the car can and cannot do......would prefer to see more women at these days but they all think it's a boys day out...till they see me with the lippy and the pink nail polish and then they relax...then the guys try and boss me around some young ones were quite piggish really till I set them an exercise and only one of them could do it.....then I did it with hand brake turns and reverse front flicks and then they shut up big time....used to compete in the state and national motorkhana champs in a little Datto 1600.....lotsa fun!!

So looking forward to getting into Max with the DSC on and off and braking/avoid and recover......braking round a corner and all that stuff.....would be good to try the brakes out as I didn't do that in the demo I drove.....sounds like what I am thinking...the 8 is too good to be true really!!

Gotta go bye bye now and do some work..Have a lovely day

Good for you doing one annually. I should do that...hey, we all should do that. Having another driver cast a critical eye over our driving skills and attitude on a regular basis is powerful learning

Build some driver training into the Nats program - not compulsory of course.

<Dave scheming to get back on track...>
