KUMHO ECSTA SPT

AVON Tech m550 A/S


Looking on the Tirerack website, it seem's the AVON's have better ratings, but I see a whole bunch of people here who like the KUMHO's . I probably can't go wrong with either.

 

Kumhos have always been my favorite

 

I have been wondering the exact same thing! Kumho's are cheeper but I have read a couple of posts where people have said they have a problem with the tread pulling away or something like that? Can anybody confirm this?

 

I have the Kumhos and am very very very happy.

 

problems with the Ecsta SPT's? there were problems with the Ecsta V710 R-compound tire when it first came out, but those have been resolved.

I put Ecsta SPT's on last week...so far, they're great...and it's hard to beat the price. Best thing so far is that they are waaaay quieter than the stock Potenza's.

 

I've seen a bunch of people on this forum down to these two tires. Why??

The M550 is an all-season tire; the M500 is the summer tire (as is the Kumho). Isn't the fairer choice between the Kumho and the Avon M500?

Can someone enlighten me?

I need to buy tires next week or so.

 

You guys are starting to sway me towards the Kumho's! And I'm sure I was wrong about the tread problem on the SPT's. I'm always wrong! It could have been the ASX or the MX or one of the others. I have read so many threads about tires in the last couple of weeks that I can't keep them straight. Your right though, you can't beat the price of the Kumho's!!!

Also, I was wrong I am not comparing the Kumho SPT to the Avon Tech m550 A/S. I need all season tires. I am comparing the Kumho ECSTA ASX to the Avon Tech m550 A/S.
