13b RENESIS 4 sale (maybe)

Hey guys and gals. If i was to sell my motor out of my 8. What would i get for it? It has done a little over 26,000k's.
I called Mazda at Hornsby today and for a new one of these your looking around $12,000.00
Im keen on selling it for the right price.. offers over $7,000 will be considered.

you might need to find another way to finance it http://www.jtprotary.com/Engines.htm

try ausrotary for the sale.

I thought all states had the rule you had to have a motor at least the same age as the car or younger.

The 20b conversion would be interesting.

There are guys from Peuto Rico getting 500 to 700 hp from turboed 20b. They say around 330hp is possible from a NA version.

It would loose some of the neutral handling due to the extra weight...but it would be sweet.

Thats cool bro ! Looks like a great project !

You know you can get easy 400hp from a 13brew .The conversion would be simple and all that balance would be in tact.

I guess it all depends on how much power you want ........

20 b would pose many changes ,,,,,New engine mounts, G/box adapters ,relocation of battery ,just to name a few.........

If it were me ,I would wack in a s4 engine ,,,,a cinch ..I know a couple of places that will give you a 10 sec car for under 10 k ..Save you thousanz !!!

Just a thought ........

Any how a 20b a is great concept , just get ready to burn $20,000+

Best of luck

Ciao

Dave

I just had a look and you can get away with this conversion even with the older motor. it also means you can swap the 13b TT

good luck with the project rx-evolv. one of the early rx-7 nuts will buy the motor off you.

correct. i have done it with my pistoned mazda. as long as the engine displacement : weight of the car is is legal.

the RTA/EPA will still have the car under the year of chassis, so you will have to make sure that the older engine still comply with the correct year of EPA emissions rules. it can be abit of PITA with emissions.

Good Luck RX-Evolv.

The 20B single turbo on the GSR drag car is, well, umm, "in excess of 1000HP". It's the excess that is the secret. LOL!

Must be the Hymee Enhanced decals on the front doors Hehehe.

Cheers,
Hymee.

PS - Bill is a fairly nice bloke. He comes up to help with some of the drag cars. Spent lots of time chatting to him enroute between Willowbank / Airport / GSR a couple of times in the Hymster-mobile. Last time was when the 20B bent the driveshaft and made a bit of a mess of things. Too much power! And that was only during the burnout.
