waste gate acutator

hey guys, been a while since i have been on here, but i am replacing my waste gate acutator . .. . when adjusting it - should the arm be adjusted to hold the actual waste gate closed or should it be holding it open?

Another way to ask the question . . Does the waste gate acutator push open the waste gate from a closed position or does it pull it shut from an open position?????

Make sense??

The actuator should pull the flap closed when the car is off. When you reach the preset boost, the actuator will push the flap open.

edit: This was backwards, its corrected now.

The Acutator holds the wastegate closed until the proper boost level is reached then it opens up that wastegate and allow the exhaust gases to bypass the turbine wheel.

It pushes the wastegate open from the closed postion.
