Angry I think someone tried to pick my lock

Hey guys, if you could do me a favor and look on your driver side door to see if it looks something similar to the pics I have below. If im not mistaken I think someone tried to pick my lock because it's missing a part of the rubber seal and the plastic clip is hanging out.
Btw, has anyone experience any break in on their 8's? I havent heard too much stories about our car being stolen or broken in. Thanks!

Strange.

Any thing else 'out of line' in your car? Body flex or something could also produce that?

Your car looks pretty dirty. Are there any smudges or fingerprints or anything around the car? Not that you could ID him from his fingerprints, but it would let you know if someone was trying to break in or not.

The seal probably popped out when your door got slammed if so, cause once i was cleaning my car and then seal popped out as the door got shot by the wind and all the doors where open, so the door just bounced off and the next hing I saw was the seal but push it back it will fix it.

I didnt see any finger prints. I just think people are retarded to try to break in. I would imagine the alarm would go off even if there successful at it. I dont have anything valuable but a radar detector.

If someone tried to break in - and they knew what they were doing - you wouldn't have a clue.

On the other hand, when people try to steal cars, you'll sometimes find small pinholes in the rubber moulding around the windows, where the thieves stick their tools in. This usually only happens if they're in a rush or they can't bend the moulding back.

It's almost impossible to get away from vandalism/theft which is why I leave no valuables ( they probably were after your radr detector try relocating it to a less noticable location) and have Lo-Jack on my 8

I think Imidazole might be on to something, how's the other side look? Is it really cold there? Because the shrinkage and gaps could be caused by the soft pieces contracting in the cold.

The other side looks fine. The seal runs all the way through and the plastic is in place. I think im going to the dealer to have them fix this, Im afraid water would run down the gap.

LoL, maybe it was nicholas cage trying to steal it and add it to his collections of cars!

Btw, doesnt the factory alarm go off when someone either breaks a window or trys to enter through the doors without a valid key?

I believe so. I didn't think ours had shock sesnors, but mine went off once when a cart rolled into my front bumper.
