Colorado Meet?

Would anyone be interested in having a RX8Club.com meet in CO? Figured we could meet somewhere, then take a drive up in the mountains or something. Anyone interested post here.

I tried to post the date of the Rotary meet on www.rockymountainrx8.com but it wasn't working again. So I will post it here.....

It's that time again.....Colorado's 1st Rotary meet of the year will be held on March 26th 2006 at Hamburger Stand again at 3rd and Union (Lakewood/Golden) at 1pm. At around 4pm we will take a short cruise up to Red Rocks and take some more pictures with all the cars with a killer backround!

I need help spreading the word to make this our biggest meet yet! Our prior meets we ended up with about 6 RX-8's, 12 FD's, 8 FC's, and 1 FB, but expect to have as many as double that this time. We are expecting a total of about 40 Rotary cars total or more.

Pm me for any other questions

Congrats on the new car.

Looks like they're setting up the meet for March 26th.

I don't want to start a war or anything like that, but I definately suggest that we get as many 8's as we can to attend. I know that the 8's get left out at these things since they are organized by Rx-7 guys. It's like being the poor red-headed step-child. So if you can, get the word out. Let's get as many 8's as we can and represent!

Anyway, sounds like fun, I should be there.

I would disagree with that....I have invited RX-8's to every meet we have had. The problem is that it is very hard to reach Omicron and usually he gets my email after the meet has past. With setting a date over a month in advance I knew this wasn't going to happen. I challenge you guys to get more RX-8's there than RX-7's! Actually, I challenge you to have more RX-8's than 3rd gen RX-7's which are almost impossible to find! I know you guys have had huge meets and hope everyone can show!

By the way....I updated my post with the date! March 26th at 1pm at Hamburger Stand! Also our last meet 3 months ago there was 6 to 7 RX-8's! Hope to see many more at this meet! We even had RX7mall.com say he was going to send us some door prizes. Does anyone here have a sponser that may be able to send RX-8 prizes like last years meet in the rain?

Hey Mike, it was good to meet you at the races yesterday. It's too bad you didn't get there soon enough to ride in my son's FD and you had to settle for a ride in my 8. I hope you enjoyed it.

The bad news is that my son, mybrother in his 8 and myself will be racing on the 26th otherwise I'm sure most of us would be there-maybe next time.

How is it there is almost always a meet when I'm out of the state or country? I suppose the next meet will be late July/early August (my Honeymoon!). I'd be there if I was around. With the great weather I've been thinking lots about another track day. Contentental anyone?

I think I may have been bitten by the bug! (SCCA). It was a ton of fun. Now next time I just need to be the one driving. Your son made it sound like he was going to try and make the meet after the race...We will probably leave Hamburger Stand about 3:30pm and show up for pictures at Red Rocks at 4:00pm. Hopefully you guys get done early. I will make sure the next meet doesn't cause a problem.

I agree with the unfortunate timing. I'll be in Peurto Rico starting on the 25th. I was looking forward to meeting up with some other owners and check out their cars.

Hope the track at Mead is still open. I was at Second Creek for their last week. Maybe (hopefully) that's the one you're thinking of. It was in Commerce City. Guess the folks who bought houses near a race track didn't actually realize it was a race track....

Yes, Mead is closed. With the closing of Second Creek and PPIR, several clubs tried to get the owner to upgrade the deteriorating facility-especially the pavement. The owner just decided to close it down instead dumping tires in the middle of the course.

Mike,

The Solo Race Schedule is available at rmsolo.org to avoid any other conflict if possible

Does anyone know of another track we can rent out for our meet this summer? If not, maybe we can rent out one of the lots at DIA like they did for the SCCA event.

43 Union Blvd
Lakewood, CO 80228 - 1801

Basically take 1-25 to 6th ave ......take it east to the Union / Simms exit....take a left to 1st ave. See all of you on Sunday....sounds like the turnout will be very good! And the weather is awesome.
