I live in an apartment complex. All week I have been hearing what I thought was a firecracker going off. Just every once in a while I'd hear a POP.
Last night (Saturday) I was sitting down at my computer and I heard it again, this time in the back of my building. I Look out the window and I see someone playing with a laster pointer. I keep watching and I hear the poping noise again. Then I realize, someone has an BB gun they are shooting, with a laser sight. My car was directly below their window, so I immediatly called the police.
The police got here within two minutes, I was so suprised. They were here for about half an hour and I wasn't too sure what happened to the residents of the apartment.
I never like them any way. The first day I moved in the jack *** came to me asking if I saw anyone break into his apartment because his pot is gone. Ohh yeah, I am moving a 15 foot truck full of boxes and I am watching your apartment. Jackass.
So after the police were gone, I go out to see if they did hit my car, since I didn't see them, but I wanted to make sure. Low and behold....

So they hit the windshield twice. Neither BB went through, but the top one shattered the glass and broke through the inside. You can see the bits of glass on the inside. They were shooting out of the top left window. That hitch thing isn't mine, but it was shot at a number of times.

So I called the police again, they came, took a report. The police officer said they were arrested and are responsible for the damage.

I am going through my insurance to get it fixed because this can't be safe to drive around in. I think it is going to need to be replaced because the glass went through. They seem to think since the BB didn't go through, and they are each smaller then they size of a dollar bill, they can be repaired.

Just to be clear these were adults shooting bb guns at cars ??
Because when I was a kid (really small I swear) .. I did shoot a bunch of things I should not have .. That ended quickly when my mom showed me the dead bird I had shot

That is terrible! You did the right thing allowing the police to handle it. I cant imagine those being fixed (it would look terrible even if they tried), you should definitely get it replaced.

 

are you F*ing kiddin me! you should find that person and beat his ***! sorry that happened to your car..... shouldn't the insurance company cover that? such as someone keying your car? i'm sure the rules apply for someone shooting a BB gun at your window......

 

I would suggest moving as soon as its possible... i dont know how much longer you have on your lease to go but perhaps since you are having your **** destroyed at the complex you could get outta your lease without any penalties? You have police reports to back it up.

Reason I suggest that is beacuse you will almost certinely have problems with these bitches down the line again, if the 1st day they come up to you asking that, and you just had this happen, they sound like stupid ******* pot-head losers to me.

Get out as fast as you can, if not for you, do it for your 8.

 

Holy crap! What they did goes well beyond stupid. These people have no respect for the safety or property of others and I hope that they do time for this and are banned from ever owning a firearm.

It's pretty obvious you need to have your apartment complex throw this guy out. He damaged your property and will hold a grudge against you, so I would try and talk to your leasing agents immediately. Also get that window fixed asap because its illegal to drive with a cracked windshield.

 

damn, sorry to hear about that, but glad u called the local authorities and they seem awfully efficient. hope you get it fixed soon

 

these idiots are legally adults (i imagine early twenties like myself) however if you ask me they are kids.

my insurance company covers glass repairs but not replacements.

the leasing center opens for the day in 15 minutes. i am heading right over.

these guys have no idea how lucky they are to have been arrested. if they weren't, i would have torn their heads off plain and simple.

That's awesome you were able to catch them in the act and get the police involved so well. If anything happens to your car after they get out, you know where to look..

 

If your insurance won't pay for a complete replacement, take those guys to court. Oh, and maybe invest in a cheap video camera with motion-activated recording capability like those offered by X-10.com...

 

May I suggest you get a 55 gal trash can, fill it with water and any disgusting undesirable waste you can find. Lean it heavily against their apartment door ring the bell then take off. If all goes well as they open the door the can falls into the apartment depositing all the water and goodies into their entrance way. Childish but I bet it would make you feel real good.

If you want to take the high road…. Talk to the building g owner and tell them that you are going to leave if they stay and your spreading the word to the other tenets. If the owner has any smarts he'll boot them rather then losing good tenets.

 

Oh good, I thought this was a thread about the guy that claimed his friends tire fell off while turning.

 

That damage is beyond what a simple BB gun would do in my opinion. More likely it was a gas-operated pellet gun or even a .22 cal. I guess they found their pot.

Yep, take them to small claims court. Be sure to get the police report, but hate to say this but sounds like it is going to be a constant problem until one of you moves out.

 

Stupid sons of bitches!!! With my temper, I would have ended up in jail because I would have found the person or persons who did that and beat the living **** out of them. Some people just have no respect for others' property.
