When the rx7 came out it was something like 60k (figure that's about 90k now). A 30k car shouldn't out perform one three times as expensive. Esp. one that's NA vs. one with twin turbos.

I'd be more interested in where they found a stock 3rd gen.

Fact is it probably wasn't. Anyone who's taken the time to keep a 3rd gen running this long has made a lot of improvements to it.

 

It's a shame, cause I used to think Dominion was a somewhat intelligent guy.

Somebody didn't know how to launch, that was the problem. No that it would have one anyways.

Plus I am 95% sure it is a stock 8 because you can hear no Aftermarket Exhaust. In fact, I could hear stock cat back. most likely if it was modded in anyway it would be changed.

I thought the FD's were in the 40K range. I've never heard of one for 60K.

 

hi from the rx7club. fds back in 93-95 here in the US could be bought anywhere from 32k to 38k.

60k+ maybe you're thinking about the NSX of that time.

I've always thought that the ego boost that people get from street drags is stupid. In most caes one car is usually much better then the other and it's not like the driver has anything to do with the outcome.

I was at Rotary Extreme Yesterday talking to Chuck (the owner) and they are selling their 20B rx7, all done except needs paintwork and rims for for 30k flat. He was saying its anywhere from 670rwhp-800+, Also he said the car will be able to fly at 1/4 mile around 8 seconds....I need a 20b in my rx8! You guys should go check it out

stay with the thread, everyone knows stock fd is faster than stock rx8. just like a stock rx8 is faster than a stock civic. and boys and girls we didn't really have to race to know either of these outcomes.

 

According to the spec sheet I read, the stock 1995 RX-7 (last year of production) does 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds versus 5.9 for the stock RX-8 (manual tranny).

 

Buy the FD first, then you won't have to mess with the Supra

Ok I don't have the time to say what I want to so ill say

Stop comparing apples and oranges. For the Nth time, the RX8 wasn't made to beat or even keep up w/an FD around a track. The 13B-REW was meant to be turboed so taking the turbos off and comparing it to the Renesis is dumb.
