I did the whole search thing...

Sorry to beat this dead horse. I did the search thing and found some helpful things but, I still have questions. I'm looking into getting the Enkei's GF1, the measurements are 18x7.5 all around.

Now, the measurement of the stock wheels are 18x8.5 or 8 right? How will this affect the ride? And what about offset? How do I find the offset for the new wheels? What I really want to do is replace the stock wheels without really changing the OE specs..does that make sense?

stock wheels are 8 inches.. if you have to go with 7.5 inches then get a lower offset wheel.. IMO 7.5 inches would look goofy on a rear wheel drive car...

run 215/45.. lower offset that the stock 50.. and you i guess will be close to OE.. but someone with more experience can prolly ellaborate my point if not correct me..

Is there a specific reason why would you're downsizing the width of your wheels and tires?

well, what i did is the i changed my wheels but used the same OEM tires. First of all the widthe of the tires 225 is compatible from 7 to 8.5 wheel. Meaning the if you go with the 7.5 (which is what i did ) your tires will make .5 inch thickness out side the rim. which is cool. especially when you are parallel parking instead of hitting your wheel, your tire would hit the curb befor your wheel does.

as for the performance, u will not realise any difference at all. and for the off set it will mainly effect the lip of your rim BIG or small lip.

^^ No, no apparent reason for going smaller. I just can't picture it looking that goofy. Hmmm, hey 55, would you happen to have any pics so I can see how the OE tires look on the lip?

Thanks again folks !

offset has a lot more to do with how big your lip will be...although, with multi-piece rims offset can determine the size of your lip..
