Are there any good happenings when it comes to the import scene in Charlotte? Such as nearby track events, local club meets, etc.

 

I was looking at relocationg to the Charlotte area and I'm wondering if there are many meets in this area.

Looking to move to Charlotte and wondering if there is an active sportscar community, whether RX-8, rotary, Mazda, or not.

 

There have been a few just "sports car" meets. Also check out the RX-7 Club in their SE section. They get together every once in a while. 3 Hours away, there is the monthly Raleigh Rotary Drive In. I'm not in Charlotte now, but I grew up there and visit family every once in a while. If you put something together, I'll come up and participate.

 

I am in Charlotte, and depending on what you want to do, there is always a good import turn-out in Hickory, pretty much every weekend. some kids, but some adults like me. .Granted, I drive the dreaded, hated, Evo, but I am a cool guy, with a great respect for the RX8's, which is why folks here seem to like me.

 

Come on STF, I wouldn't go THAT far. We just use you for your driving instruction!

hey i am often near charlotte, i live in boone because i go to ASU. I would def. come if you put a meet or event together!

You don't have to be a member to run in the autocross events but you do get a discount. Either way it is pretty cheap. If anybody wants to get up an RX8 meet, I'll try to make it.

 

That is a great club, my wife autocrosses with them in my Evo.

Central Carolinas Region SCCA takes autocross to Lowes Motor Speedway!
